Some Visual Novels that I can recommend:

Clannad and Clannad After Story, Muv Luv, Katawa Shoujo, Sound of Her Love, Choas;Head, Steins;Gate, Kindered Spirits on The Roof, Making Lovers, and The Promise of Haruhi Suzumiya. Those are the current Visual Novels that I have played (or currently playing) that I can recommend. Some of those are free like Katawa Shoujo and Sound of Her Love so do check them out if they seem interesting. Basically, just like the kind of anime and manga I like, I prefer spice of life stories, some mysteries, romanace, and sometimes more action focused genres though the latter isn't as common in the visual novel format.

Recommended Anime Shows:

Welcome to the NHK, Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!, Sound! Euphonium, The Meloncholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, So I'm a Spider, So What? (Note:Just read the manga. the anime is kind of hit and miss), Love Live!, Girls Und Panzer, Serial Experiment Lain, Samurai Champloo, Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou, Kareshi Kanojo no Jijo, City Hunter, Yagate Kimi ni Naru, Lupin III, Kotobuki Hikoutai, (Pratically any comfy anime series like YKK, Super Cub, Yuru Camp, etc are all good in my book), and Detective Conan as far as I can name right off the top of my head. At least these series in particular I found to be very entertaining and interesting for one reason or another. Not exactly unique tastes for a start to be honest, I haven't been into anime up until a few years ago so there's still alot of other shows I need to look into. I guess that makes me a normalfag compared to weebs who have been engaging in this shit for decades. Oh well.

Recommended Manga:

Nausicaa of The Valley of the Wind, Ad Astra - Scipio to Hannibal (ongoing), Gunslinger Girl, Kumo desu ga, Nani Ka? (just like the anime, ongoing), NHK ni Youkoso!, Yagate Kimi ni Naru, Tongari Boushi no Atelier (translation in progress), The Meloncholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Death Note, Girl's Frontine Manga, Wolfsmund, Gunsmith Cats, and Girl's und Panzer. Not too different from my recommeneded anime shows, some are pratically the same as the shows but have some noticable differences. The Nausicaa manga in particular is vastly different from the movie and arguably better. It's probably one of Miyazaki's best works. If you are on Linux, you can use a program called Komikku which is very similar to the android app Tachiyomi.
